The world’s biggest cryptocurrency gained Tuesday, adding to a late 2023 runup.
Bitcoin traded at about $45,050 at 5 p.m. ET, up 3.3% from the same time Monday, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
The climb marked bitcoin’s highest evening level since April 2022, before a series of token and company collapses diminished its value.
Shares of MicroStrategy, a software intelligence firm that holds a lot of bitcoins, jumped more than 8%.
