Eleanor Hughes has been named as general counsel of Binance, the crypto company said Thursday.
Hughes will lead the legal affairs of the blockchain and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider alongside a team of 85 lawyers, Binance said. She will work with the global compliance team as the company faces a web of regulatory probes. Bloomberg News first reported the pending appointment on July 6.
Hughes, who joined the legal team in 2021, has also served as head of legal for APAC and MENA for Binance. Before joining the company, she worked at US law firms including Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
